Metal-Free Dentistry – Houston, TX

Exceptional Dental Care Without Any Metal

Dentist designing a metal free dental bridge

When you come to Dr. Alani, you'll find that we are a metal-free dental practice in Houston. There are a few reasons for doing this. First, it's possible for some patients to have an allergic reaction to metal. Second, there is the potential, however slight, for toxicity with some forms of metal dentistry. Taking metal out of the equation allows us to offer care that our patients can accept without any anxiety related to well-being or long-term consequences. And there are also aesthetic considerations. Metal-free dental services yield results that look more natural, so call us to schedule an appointment.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

If you have a small cavity, rather than making the tooth stand out by placing a dark silver filling in it, we can instead make the problem disappear using composite resin. This material can be matched to your enamel so that the filling ultimately becomes invisible in your smile. Even better, because our fillings are metal-free, they don’t cause temperature sensitivity and are less likely to need repair over time.

Porcelain Dental Crowns

A tooth can often become so damaged or decayed that it can’t be repaired with a filling, and that’s when we will recommend covering it with a dental crown. Our porcelain crowns sit on top of compromised teeth to protect and restore them at the same time, and unlike gold or silver, the renewed tooth won’t stand out compared to those next to it. We can even use these crowns to enhance cosmetically imperfect teeth to create the perfect smile.

Our Houston dental office also offers ceramic onlays, which are similar to crowns, except they don't cover the entire tooth. Instead, onlays only cover about half the tooth. During a consultation visit, Dr. Alani will assess your needs and help you understand which of our metal-free options are right for you.

At Dr. Alani's Houston dental office, you can look forward to expert care and extraordinary results. Call us to schedule a consultation, checkup, or second opinion visit. Our office is located near the Galleria and serves patients from all around the greater Houston area.
